Faith's Big Donation ~ Locks of Love

Well..the big day finally arrived!

About a year ago Faith found out about a program called "Locks of Love"...it is put on by the Nexxus hair company and provides wigs for children who have lost their hair either due to a medical condition or cancer, etc. From that moment on Faith was determined to grow her hair out and donate it to L.O.L...The longer her hair got, the more I hated to see her cut it...but I knew in my heart that she was doing it with a pure heart and she only wanted to bless someone else and I had no right to stop her! Every month...without fail, she would ask me "is it long enough yet?"...and every month we would measure it...she needed 10 inches to donate, which meant her hair needed to be even longer in order to leave her some length once cut. Right before we left for vacation, I measured her hair and sure enough we had enough length...she made me promise that as soon as we got back I would let her cut it :-) A promise is a promise...so as soon as we got back we marched ourselves down to the salon and made the donation. Our girl Inez has been cutting Faith's hair for a couple years now and she was so excited and proud of Faith too :-) I don't think I have seen such a happy little girl! She was so excited and held her little cut ponytails up so proudly...she kept saying "I can't wait until someone gets my hair mama"!
Below is Faith's before picture...
Here are a few pics of the hair cut in progress....And here are some pics of Faith's new haircut :-)
Some special little girl (or boy) will be getting a really pretty RED wig ;-) Faith is still so excited...she loves her new "do" and so do we. And I have to tell you that I am one proud mama...it is such a blessing to watch your child be so selfless and passionate about something...sharing God's love in big ways :-)

We love you little Red!!! Way to go!
P.S. A little shout out to our softball friend Briley and her mom Tammy. When Tammy heard what Faith was doing she grabbed her wallet and handed me a 30% off discount coupon to Sweet and Sassy :-) Thanks girls for making this a fun and frugal adventure!!!
